ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

From 2021, we started applying the ISO 14001 environmental management system in our daily work operations.

An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a structured approach to the management of a company’s activities, aimed at minimizing the negative environmental impacts of its activities and ensuring long-term environmental sustainability. The EMS covers a range of activities and processes aimed at reducing the use of waste, energy and other resources and protecting nature from harmful impacts, in strict compliance with the relevant legislation.

Through EMSs, we aim to consistently reduce the environmental impact of our business activities throughout the entire product and service lifecycle: to reduce the consumption of energy, raw materials and other resources in every possible way; to use high quality and environmentally less harmful materials in our operations; to optimize the amount of waste and to manage and segregate the waste generated in a responsible manner; to record indicators to measure the level of achievement and change; and to encourage responsible behavior and involvement of employees in environmental activities both inside and outside the workplace.

With the introduction of the EMS, we aim to promote environmental awareness and responsible behavior not only within the company, but we invite our partners to do the same.

ABOUT ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) standard for the implementation and certification of an environmental management system in companies. The standard sets out requirements and guidelines for an environmental management system to manage and continuously improve an organization’s environmental performance.

The main reasons why ISO 14001 was developed are:

1.Standardization of environmental requirements;

2.Promoting business efficiency and sustainability;

3.Meeting stakeholder expectations;

4.International trade;

5.Interaction between environment and business.
