In 2011, based on SAP technology, the Insured Compulsory Health Insurance Register (CHIR), was established for NHIF and Phase I of Financial Management and Accounting Information System (FMS) was introduced. The Registry has to work continuously to ensure that medical institutions, pharmacies can check the patient’s health insurance and start providing services paid from the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (CHIF). The Financial Management and Accounting Information System incorporates the financial management and accounting functionality of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund Administration Institutions (National Health Insurance fund and Territorial Health Insurance Funds), and the accounting functionality of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund, enabling accounting in accordance with Public Sector Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
